Saucy Skillet Beans with Kale and Chicken Sausage

1 package of Al Fresco Applewood Smoked Chicken Sausage, diced

1 Tbsp olive oil 

1 28oz can crushed tomatoes 

1 15oz can great northern beans, drained & rinsed

2 tsp Italian seasoning 

1 tsp salt 

1/2 tsp black pepper 

2 large handfuls of chopped kale 


  • 1Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 Tbsp of olive oil and continue to heat for another minute.
  • 2To the skillet, add the diced chicken sausage. Sauté and cook until browned, about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • 3Add in the can of crushed tomatoes, beans and seasonings to the skillet. Turn heat to medium low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.  
  • 4Add the chopped kale to the skillet and stir until wilted.  
  • 5Serve with crusty bread for dipping or eat it on its own!
